I don't know if anyone actually reads this blog except for a few family memebers. But I'm asking you if you read this please pray for my sister L and her husband M. He is leaving tomorrow to go to Burma (where the cyclone hit) with a team of Dr.'s. I'm totally overwhelmed by the loss and devastion there. THere have been a few articles in Yahoo but really nothing else has been reported. Everything I have read or seen has been through the BBC that my sister has passed along. I'm copying an e-mail that my sister wrote to friends and family. I'm erasing names, you'll understand when you read her e-mail.
THanks all
Alright warriors,
The trip is a go!!!!! The Lord has made a way when there was none!!!!! Our Father is so good, through an amazing chain of events and while there are 1,500 humanitarian workers waiting at the country boarders for visas, our team has been granted entry!! Because of the sensitivity of this situation I cant give you all the details but know that our Father provided a connection on the inside that will have everything in order and be able to walk our team through all the check points and "road blocks". Because of the size of our group and the fact that we do not carry with us a recognizable name in these circles we can slip in unaware.
Our Father has provided all the necessary funds to purchase the very expensive water purifiers and all the meds that are needed. Several big organizations have partnered with us to accomplish our goal of "binding up the wounded" and "planting the word" Our Father is so very faithful and He loves the people of this forgotten land so much that He is literally moving mountains on their behalf.
This trip and the information I am passing on to you is very sensitive and you will need to fill in around the wording. Please pass this on to whom ever you think you can trust who will commit to pray, but be careful knowing that peoples lives are on the line. If you have time you should do a bit of research on the country and its history it would really help you in knowing how to pray. I believe one of the reasons we are involved in this project along with helping to pass the "word" is to help make the outside world aware of the hardships many people endure outside of America. We are sheltered here in America and sometimes lose site of the fact that there are hurting needy people EVERYWHERE and the enemy would want us to ignore or convince ourself that there is nothing we can do. As seen in the events of this past week both in Burma and China the "birth pains" of the end are upon us and the time is short to reach the hurting. Not everyone can go and do something like this but we can all pray.
There is very little coming through on the news and much of what we know we are getting from the BBC or underground publications so if you don't know i will bring up up to date a bit on things:
Dead (official)
38,491
Missing (official)
27,838
Dead (Red Cross estimate)
Up to 127,990
Affected (Red Cross estimate)
Up to 2.51 million
- There are about 1,500 health and rescue workers waiting at the boarders to help these people but the Junta will not let them in
-The government has set up road blocks and barricades keeping rations and aid from upward a million people in the delta region(the hardest hit area)
-because of the infrastructure of the country there is no equipment available or man power to remove and bury the 1,000,00 dead- the bodies are still scattered in trees, washed up on beaches and floating in the only drinking source they have, the rivers
-The aid that is coming in is being confiscated at the airports re-stamped and sent to Bangladesh and India to pay a debt the country owes.
-where aid is reaching people the government is issuing only 1 cup of rice per family per day and the rice that is being given is rotten and old
-Because of the poor living conditions and lack of medical help there is now outbreaks of cholera, typhoid, tetanus and dysentery posing yet another danger and assurance of more deaths
-The media is not allowed into the country and much time and energy has been wasted by the government hunting down the media as an attempt to keep the world from finding out how bad things are
-The largest city Rangoon(Yangon) has been cleared and the residents fed and cared for as to give the word the impression that all is well yet two kilometers outside of the city people are starving and dying from exposure
So....... please pray for....
-safety and divine protection for the team
-safety and protection for the people "helping" us
--health and provision and strength for the team
-Divine connections and wisdom for M as each day unfolds
-Divine direction on whom to pass on the supplies to and who to help each day
-safety and grace for the workers and missionaries already there
-supernatural multiplication of time energy and supplies
-Travel grace with all the supplies and ports to enter and exit (for the right people working and the right people helping)
-Please pray for our family, this month has been very difficult for us with M's brothers home-going(my brotherin law's brother passed away just a few weeks ago) and this separation is very hard for myself and the kids- My heart is in Burma right now and I am carrying a load of grief for them i wanted to go on this trip but feel the Lord would have me here with my children and the duties of home.
-Pray for M's partners and staff that will need to carry extra loads in the teams absence
-Pray for the people of Burma for their supernatural survival, for provisions, shelter and peace
-Pray that the "truth" will go forth and be planted in fertile ground
-Pray for the "Harvest" of Burma
-Pray for the hearts of the leaders to be softened by the "truth" that their pride will be overtaken by supernatural compassion for their people and the proper help and aid will flow
Thank you again for partnering with us it means so much to us personally but also to the people of Burma.
Though our focus is Burma right now please be aware that there is a situation of almost equal proportion in China that needs our attention and prayers. There are alumni of our organization that are in route there now please pray for their safety and provision and for the peace and comfort of our Father for their families.
Much love to you all

praying!
Joy - I will certainly keep your sister and brother in law, as well as all the thousands of people in that faraway - often forgotten land- in my prayers.
